Russia's Bashkir Beekeeping Center Initiates Trial Honey Shipment to Azerbaijan
The Bashkir Scientific Research Center for Beekeeping and Apitherapy (BSRC) has commenced the first trial shipment of 1,170 kg of honey to Azerbaijan, as reported by Trend.
The contract for supplying honey products to Azerbaijan was inked in February, although the specific customer was not disclosed.
The exported honey comprises three varieties: linden, sunflower, and flower honey. Prior to obtaining authorization from the Russian Agricultural Supervision, the honey samples underwent rigorous laboratory testing. The transportation of honey to Azerbaijan will be facilitated via road transport.
Margarita Bolycheva, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the Republic of Bashkortostan, highlighted the diversified nature of exports to Azerbaijan.
She noted that at the close of 2023, approximately one-third of shipments from Bashkortostan to Azerbaijan comprised metals and metal products. Additionally, the export structure encompasses fuel and energy commodities, chemical industry products, wood, pulp, and paper products, machinery, and food items.
Bolycheva further emphasized a 1.4 percent growth in mutual trade turnover between the Republic of Bashkortostan and Azerbaijan for January-February compared to the corresponding period last year. She identified potential for increased exports of chemical and oil and gas industry products, mineral fertilizers, and aluminum.
This update provides insight into the commencement of honey exports from the Bashkir Beekeeping Center to Azerbaijan, underscoring the growing economic ties between the two regions.
