5 THINGS TO KNOW: How to attend a free beekeeping class hosted by the Choctaw Nation




The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma gives information on how members of the public can attend a free beekeeping workshop being held Saturday in McAlester.

1 What can people learn at the workshop?

Attendees will learn about beekeeping fundamentals including how to get started, best practices, and general pollinator knowledge.

2 Do I have to be a Choctaw member to attend?

No, the workshop is open to everyone.

3 Is there a cost to attend?

No, the event is free and is sponsored by the Choctaw Nation Environmental Compliance Department in cooperation with a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

4 Do I have to register to attend?

No registration is required to attend the workshop.

5 Where is the workshop being held?

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Choctaw Nation’s McAlester Community Center located at 3274 Afullota Hina.
