Three Shade Tree employees were stung by bees Thursday morning in Paramus while trimming trees near Howland Avenue and Village Circle, police said. The swarm was bad enough to lead police to encourage residents to stay inside.

The buzz occurred around 10:55 a.m. said Chief of the Paramus Police Department Robert M. Guidetti.

One worker suffered severe stings and was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment. The other two employees sustained moderate stings, Guidetti said.
