Civilian casualty in clash between PKK, Turkish Army in Shiladze

A citizen was martyred during a clash between PKK fighters and the Turkish army in the village of Bariske in the Shiladze district of the Kurdistan Region on Thursday morning.

Osman Rizhdi Rekani, a 32-year-old engaged in beekeeping, was killed by Turkish warplanes due to the presence of PKK fighters in the border area.

Shiladze district has experienced numerous clashes between the Turkish army and PKK forces. This year alone, nine civilians have been killed and two others injured in these confrontations.

The ongoing conflict has led to the evacuation of dozens of villages, with many citizens losing their fields and livelihoods as a result of the fighting.
