The Korea Rural Development Administration has revealed that despite this year's late blooming of cherry blossoms, the extended flowering period has positively impacted the cherry blossom honey harvest.

This year, cherry blossoms bloomed one to three days later than the previous year, with the flowering period lasting an average of eight days longer. The delay was primarily due to frequent rainfall in March, which reduced sunlight and lowered average temperatures.

The extended bloom period allowed beekeepers ample time to collect cherry blossoms, resulting in a plentiful harvest of pure cherry blossom honey, particularly beneficial during the blooming of other flowers.

Cherry blossom honey is highly nutritious, packed with essential nutrients, amino acids, and minerals. It also contains significant amounts of flavonoids and phenolic compounds, known for their antioxidant properties.
