Master Beekeeper Will Give Library Talk

As part of the Sandwich Public Library Adult Summer Reading program “Read and Take Flight” events, the public is invited to attend a lecture on Beekeeping with Master Beekeeper, Bob Savage at the Sandwich Public Library on Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 PM. This is a free event, but space is limited and registration is required through the event calendar on the library website or by calling the library at 508-888-0625. Light refreshments will be served.

Mr. Savage will offer an overview about bees and provide the audience with an introduction on how to get started with beekeeping. Beekeeping equipment including a bee jacket, hive tool, and a small complete beehive known as a nuke will be on display, and there will be demonstrations on how to use them. There will not be live bees used during this event.

Mr. Savage has been beekeeping for more than 10 years. He currently mentors four new beekeepers and sends a weekly message to other beekeepers on the topic of beekeeping management.
