Matthew McConaughey seems ‘alright, alright, alright’ after apparent bee sting

Things can get wild when you live in Texas, and actor Matthew McConaughey is living proof.

On Wednesday, July 10, the native Texan posted a close-up photo of himself on Instagram with a mighty swollen eye.

“Bee well,” McConaughey captioned the snap, indicating the swelling might be from a bee sting. While some would never think of posting a picture after suffering a sting of any kind, McConaughey is unlike most people.

Heck, the “Gold” actor was even grinning ear to ear in the bee-utiful photo he shared with his 9.7 million Instagram followers. But McConaughey’s smile didn’t fend off concerned parties in the comments section below the post.

Pantalones Organic Tequila, which McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves co-founded, commented, “You good, boss?” and New York Times bestselling author R. H. Sin wrote, “Of course you made light of a dark moment. No, but seriously, we hope you’re okay.”

Some even took the chance to remind McConaughey of things he doesn’t need two eyes for, like enjoying an ice-cold brewski. Lone Star Beer dropped by with the best reminder of them all: “Good thing you don’t need eyes to hold a beer!”

While we aren’t entirely sure what happened to McConaughey’s eye, here’s hoping the actor heals up soon.
