Luxembourg City launches educational bee walking trail

Luxembourg City has taken another step toward promoting biodiversity and the protection of bees with the launch of a new bee walking trail. This initiative aims to educate both children and adults about the crucial role bees, bumblebees, hornets, and wasps play in maintaining a "healthy and balanced environment".

The 2.5-km walking trail, which features 13 information points, offers visitors a unique opportunity to delve into the world of these vital insects. Each information point provides insights into the lives and importance of these species, making the learning experience both fun and informative.

A highlight of the trail is a specially designed house for insects and wild bees, where visitors can observe these "diligent workers" in action.

From May to September, guided tours are available in several languages, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem. These tours, organised in collaboration with various partners, last two and a half hours and provide a comprehensive overview of the significance of pollinators.

For those who prefer to explore at their own pace, the trail can also be enjoyed independently.
