Honeybee Festival to buzz in Cloverdale

All things bees will be showcased at the upcoming Honeybee Festival.

Hosted by Cloverdale’s Honeybee Centre, the bee fest is set for July 27 and 28.

Cassie Gibeau, media contact for Honeybee Centre, encouraged families to “bring the whole hive” down to the unique festival.

“Bees—and people—will be buzzing July 27 and 28 in Cloverdale,” Gibeau wrote in a press release for the popular event.

The free, two-day celebration has something for everyone including: family activities, a bouncy castle, bee beards, beekeeping demonstrations, live music, some food trucks, a farmers market, a ton of local vendors, and—obviously—the star of the show: lots of honey.

“The crowd favourite has always been the beekeeping demonstrations,” added Gibeau, “and, of course, the famous bee beards, where people have a thousand bees put on their faces."

Gibeau also noted, kids can check out @HoneybeeCentreKids on Instagram to find out lots of information about bees, see interesting bee pics, and to find out about kid-centred events at Honeybee Centre.

The Honeybee Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 27 and 28. The Honeybee Centre is located at 7480 176th Street, at the corner of 176th and the Fraser Highway.
