Thousands of Bees Discovered in Walls of Family's Farmhouse

A colony of thousands of bees was discovered in the walls of a family’s farmhouse in Westbrook, Maine, footage posted to Facebook shows.

The colony was estimated to have contained more than 40,000 bees, a member of the Knight family, the owners of Smiling Hill Farm, told local news outlet WMTW.

This footage was captured by Andrew MacDonald, the beekeeper tasked with removing the hive.

Good morning, Friday the 13th of September.

Over at the Smiling Hill Farm again, you can see in the wall of their farmhouse here, they have a colony of honeybees that have been in there.

Very established.

The plan is to take them out of that wall next week and relocate them to this high body that we have out here.

Roadside.

You can see the bees entering and exiting over there in the corner of that building.

We're gonna pop them into this box with a stack of boxes.
