Weather: the MISTRAL wind arrives to chase away the ABNORMAL HEAT, temperatures dropping significantly!

Good morning to all friends and happy last Sunday of September! This month has been particularly autumnal, characterized by as many as eight disturbances that have crossed our peninsula.

Apart from these last few days, there have been no summer heat waves.

Summer seems to have been knocked out K.

O.
, although until yesterday, in the southern regions, one could still enjoy some perfect days for going to the beach.   In fact, temperatures above 30°C were recorded in many locations in ApuliaSicily, and Sardinia, with values well above the seasonal average even in the central regions.

However, starting today, the situation changes radically.

A decidedly cooler and unstable phase is on its way, which will accompany us throughout the week.

But now let’s see the forecast for today, Sunday, September 29.

The sun returns to shine, but beware of strong winds and possible storm surges along the coasts

In the North, the situation will be stable from the morning, with wide clearings in all sectors.

Only in the afternoon or evening might there be an increase in cloudiness, especially in the northwestern areas and the Alpine reliefs.

In the Center, there will still be a chance of some showers in the morning, especially between Marche and Abruzzo, while on the Tyrrhenian side the weather will be decidedly sunnier and more stable.   Moving to the South, the morning will be characterized by a bit more clouds, especially on the Apennines and northern Apulia, where some quick showers are not excluded.

However, in the afternoon, the weather will improve, bringing wide clearings in several areas.   An important aspect of today concerns the winds: the mistral winds will be strongly reinforcing over much of the peninsula.

The most exposed areas will be those of the Adriatic and, especially, the Lower Adriatic and the Ionian, where wind gusts reaching 50-60 km/h can be recorded, with the possibility of storm surges along these coasts.   temperatures will undergo a sharp drop compared to the values recorded yesterday, especially in the South, where a decrease of up to 10°C is expected.

The highs will range between 17°C and 20°C in the North, between 18°C on the Adriatic side and 21-22°C on the Tyrrhenian side in the Center, while in the South they will settle between 20°C and 23°C.
