Get the buzz on how to keep native bees
Community members buzzing to gather information on keeping native stingless bees are invited to attend one of two workshops to find out how.
Australian Native Bee Association (ANBA) Wide Bay Branch member Stephen Curran said the workshops would cover information on both stingless native bees and solitary native bees.
Stephen said the workshops would share the latest bee news and include information from guest speaker Ian Driver from A Green Soul Native Bees.
He said the workshop would be an opportunity for the community to learn about some of the most popular and beautiful native bees.
Including how locals can attract them into the garden with plants and bee hotels.
“You will also see inside a native stingless beehive and get to taste their amazing honey,” he said.
“This workshop will cover both our stingless bees and our native solitary bees, and options for keeping them in gardens or even on decks and verandas.”
