Dunamaise Beekeeping Association bid farewell to beloved member

Dunamaise Beekeepers Association has announced the retirement of tireless community worker, Dick McCann.

The association, located in Co Laois, took to their social media to express their sincere gratitude to the dedicated man, saying, "Dick has been very generous with his time, and his skills, in helping all our students every year, and taking great care of the apiary,

"He stepped in when we needed an apiary manager, and put his best foot forward to support us, and the bees!" they added, graciously.

The beloved, now former, beekeeper is described as not just having not just an incredible personality, but also having positively impacted every person he meets with his kind words and encouragement, not just the students at Dunamaise, but people through all walks of life.

Dick is a "true gentleman", with his character bringing "wit and laughter" to his beekeeping community, and now, beyond.

It is clear that Dick will be sorely missed, with beekeeping being a true passion of his, which he sprinkled down to the students, and whatever is next for him, let it be filled with as much fun and laughter he brought to the Dunamaise Beekeeping Association, as it surely won't be the same without him.

Happy retirement, Dick!
