Weather WEEKEND: ABNORMAL HEAT, fog, and LATE “SUMMER” air

After a period of intense rains culminating last weekend with the passage of a depression vortex, the break from bad weather was really necessary, especially in the regions affected by floods and flooding.

However, the situation remains critical in other parts of the peninsula: in the South, and particularly in Puglia and Basilicata, a persistent drought continues to severely test the water resources reserves.

While the North and part of the Center, between LiguriaTuscanyEmilia Romagna and Sardinia, have experienced days of heavy rains, in the South the anomalous temperatures are maintaining an almost summer-like climate.   This climatic division is caused by a field of high pressure that has been stationary over the peninsula for days, keeping temperatures well above the seasonal average.

The anticyclonic field seems destined to remain in the coming days as well, continuing to influence the entire territory.

Below, we delve into the weather forecast for the weekend, which officially opens the month of November.

Anticyclonic block also in the weather forecast, the days will all (or almost all) be the same

Saturday, November 2, the weather continues to favor sunny conditions in all regions of Italy, with an increase in cloudiness in the afternoon, but without the risk of rain.

Attention to the formation of fog banks on the Po Valley and along the coasts, especially in the early hours of the day.

The temperatures will remain stationary and out of season, with highs between 18-19°C in the North and 22-23°C in the Center-South.   Sunday, November 3 will be a similar day from a meteorological point of view, with predominantly sunny skies and some passing clouds.

The fog will continue to form early in the morning and late in the evening in the plains and along the coasts.

The humidity will remain above 90% throughout Italy.

A slight temperature drop is to be noted, which will affect the North and the entire Adriatic side (including Puglia), where the maximum temperatures will reach 16-19°C.

On the Tyrrhenian side and the major islands, the highs will remain between 21-22°C.
